Online Phase

Team-Based Participation
Participation is strictly team-based, with each team consisting of 5 ophthalmologists. Registration is only accepted in complete team format.

Individual Online Assessment
Each team member must complete a customized individual online scientific assessment within the announced timeframe. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Screening Passing Score
The minimum qualifying score for each team is 50%, calculated as the average score of all five team members.

Online Test Ranking Criteria

Teams are ranked based on:

  • Highest total team average score
  • Fastest completion time (in case of score ties)

Selection for On-Ground Phase
Only the top 16 teams achieving the highest and fastest qualifying scores will advance to the on-ground competition phase.

Mandatory Participation
All five team members must complete the online assessment. Failure of any team member to participate will result in automatic team disqualification.

Participants must complete the assessment independently and ethically. Any violation of assessment integrity may result in immediate team disqualification.

On-Ground Phase

Competition Structure
The on-ground phase consists of multiple competitive waves, kicking off during EOS 2026 and continuing until the final ceremony in November 2026.

Team Continuity
Teams must compete with their originally registered members throughout all on-ground phases. Substitutions or replacements are not permitted.

Attendance Commitment
Active participation of all team members is required during all on-ground competition waves.

Absence Notification
In case of unavoidable absence, the participant must notify the organizing committee at least 48 hours before the scheduled wave. Approval is at the committee’s discretion.

Absence Penalty – First Absence
If absent for one wave, 25% of the prize allocated to that member will be redistributed among remaining team members.

Absence Penalty – Second Absence
If absent for two waves, the member will be excluded from the competition and 100% of their prize allocation will be redistributed.

Coaching Role
Each team must nominate one coach for mentorship and preparation support. Coaches must not participate in answering questions or influencing live competition outcomes.

Professional behavior, scientific integrity, and ethical conduct are mandatory. Any misconduct may result in penalties or disqualification.
